Antique diamond pendant/brooch

Here is a truly magnificent piece of antique jewellery from the start of the 20th century.

This truly amazing diamond pendant also can easily be converted to a brooch by simply adding the brooch fitting and removing the chain.

The entire piece was hand made in 15ct gold and sterling silver - a practice used right up to the early 1900's to retain the white of the diamonds.
This piece is set with a total of 59 diamonds in a variety of rose cut diamonds, European cut diamonds and cushion cut diamonds.
Though a bit hard to see in the images, there are 2 light yellow diamonds near the top and 2 more more intense yellow towards the bottom making it all that more special.

Fitted in its original box, this piece was made by the clock and watchmaking firm of James Rithchie - a company that started in 1809 and is still around today.

To get a piece like this with all of its original parts to convert to and from a brooch and the original box is a true find and this is a true treasure to be handed down through the family.
