Here is a wonderful antique sterling silver sovereign case that has the most beautiful hand engraving on both sides.
Traditionally used to of course hold sovereigns, an antique sovereign case such as this still looks wonderful and makes a real talking point when it is worn on a chain around the neck.
The case measures 34mm across, and was made in Birmingham in 1900 and the engraved designs on both sides is so beautiful to admire.
The spring on both the hinges and where the sovereigns are placed are in wonderful condition, even well after 100 years and the case doesn't bend past 90 degrees as many worn ones do and the springs inside still have so much resistance when you press down on it.
Charming from whichever way you look at it, this antique sovereign case is just wonderful.
