Here is an amazing vintage Omega watch that not only looks and runs beautifully, but was also designed by one the 20th Centuries most innovative designers, Andrew Grima.

This Omega Deville was made in 1972 and designed by Andrew Grima. He was known as an innovative jewellery designer, whose designs won him prestigious commissions from numerous patrons including Princess Margaret, Jacqueline Onassis, and HM Queen Elizabeth II. Earning multiple awards and accolades, including a Royal Warrant, in 1969 Omega commissioned him to design a collection of 85 jewellery watches. These were to be made in a unique and captivating style. Titled ‘About Time’, these watches have become so sought after in recent years and look truly fabulous on the wrist.

Made in a 20 micron gold plated case that measures 32.5 across by 24.5mm from the end of each watch lug, the facetted crystal on the top mirrors the design of the case, and adds to its charm and character. This is such a stylish watch that look fantastic on the wrist and will no doubt always be a conversation starter each and every time that it is worn.

Inside it is powered by the beautiful 17 jewelled manual wind Omega calibre 625 that has been serviced by our own in-house watchmaker and comes with a twelve month warranty.

This is one watch that really is a piece of art just as much as a watch.

Who was Andrew Grima?

A brief history on Andrew Grima:

Andrew Grima (1921-2007) was known as an innovative jewellery designer, whose designs won him prestigious commissions from numerous patrons. These includes Princess Margaret, Jacqueline Onassis, and HM Queen Elizabeth II. Earning multiple awards and accolades, including a Royal Warrant, in 1969 Omega commissioned him to design a collection of 85 jewellery watches. These were to be made in a unique and captivating style. Titled ‘About Time’, the collection included designs that used a gemstone in place of a watch glass, that would allow the wearer to see time through stone.

When was the Omega De Ville first made?

The Omega De Ville was first introduced in 1960 as the Omega Seamaster De Ville. An elegant and stylish design, it was then released by Omega in 1967 as its own stand-alone line. This was made as a new line completely separate from other models, such as the Omega Seamaster. Known for its elegant lines and designs, the Omega De Ville has remained an elegant watch to this day.

Where can I service my Omega watch?

When we expanded and renovated our store in late 2022, we put in not only a full watchmaking and polishing workshop, but a watchmaker who used to work for LVMH and Rolex. We also now have full access to Omega watch parts, allowing us to be able to service your Omega watch, as well as other watches such as Longines, Breitling, Cartier and Patek Philippe to name a few.

We suggest every 5 years to a maximum of 8 years.
Omega recommends that a complete service of your watch should be done every 5 to 8 years. If the watch is worn in water, we advise that the water resistance checked every year.
