Omega Seamaster Cosmic 2000 from 1973

The Omega Seamaster Cosmic 2000 range was released in 1972, and used an ingenious system for its watch case, by making them in one piece in a design called a "monocoque" case.

This means that the watch case is one solid piece with the no opening at the back, rather the movement is put in via the front of the case. Not only does this give the watch a very unique feature, but coming from the 1970's also means that it has a fabulous large, bold design making this watch here look superb on the wrist.

The large, bulbous stainless steel case measures 35mm across plus the Omega crown, however thanks to the shape of the case, this watch looks so much larger on the wrist.

With a centre sweep seconds and date, this is a style of watch that will look so good during the day, and amazing at night, and is sure to be a conversation starter each time that it is worn.

Inside is the beautiful 1012 automatic Omega calibre that has just been serviced and comes with our twelve month warranty.

Day, night, formal or informal, this is a very distinct looking watch that will always be admired.

What is the Omega Seamaster Cosmic?

The below information is taken from the book, "Omega, A journey through time" page 295.
The Cosmic 2000

Launched in 1972, the automatic Omega Seamaster Cosmic 2000 was characterised both by the exclusive watertight system of large gaskets insuring an absolute water-resistance down to 60 meters and by the originality of the method to fasten the movement in the case: the movement is held in a separate "container" maintained by an O-ring gasket on the inner side of the separate case middle. The mineral crystal and the case back are also set into a special water-resistant synthetic sleeve.
