18th Century tortoishell and papier mache box.
This is a wonderful item.
A tortoishell and papier mache round box, that has been hand painted on the top, side and even underneath.
Made in the mid-1750's, it is showing signs of wear, however for the material that it is made from and its age, it can be forgiven.
This would make a wonderful treaure in anyones collection, and surely would be very difficult to replace.
