The Art Nouveau period lasted a relatively short time compared to other eras and styles, and lasted from the 1890's until 1918 and often displays designs that are very fluid such as can be seen here in this art Nouveau ring. Hand made in 18 carat yellow gold and platinum in the early 1900's, the ring is set with two mine cut diamonds that total 0.26 carats as well as three rose cut diamonds in a flowing section and one more rose cut diamond on each side. These additional diamonds total 0.06 carats and both the mine cut and rose cut diamonds have all the charm and character of being genuine antique cut diamonds that were all cut by hand. The Art Nouveau period lasted from about 1890 until the start of World War One in 1914 and is easily characterised by often having flowing lines incorporated into the design such as can be seen here in this very attractive 18 carat gold and platinum Art Nouveau diamond ring. The design of this ring will no doubt always be admired and measuring 16.6mm in length it not only looks amazing but accentuates the finger so well. Set with two larger rose cut diamonds at each end, there are a further seven smaller rose cut diamonds in the centre and these smaller diamonds have the millgrain setting which can be seen as the elegant crimping along the edge. Small details such as this go a long way in adding to the charm and character of antique jewellery and makes it stand out from anything that has been mass produced. Here is a truly unique diamond ring so typical of the Art Nouveau period of the late 1800's.
