Pique is the term given to jewellery that is made from tortoiseshell that was inlayed with gold and silver, and here are a very beautiful pair of antique pique drop earrings from the Victorian era of the 1880's. With the wonderful chocolate brown colour of the tortoiseshell that has the geometric design placed into it, each earring measures 41.1mm in length, or 48.8mm to the top of the shepherd hoods. Here is an exceedingly rare antique pique bracelet from the 19th century that would not only be near on impossible to replace, but is true museum quality. Pique is tortoiseshell which has been inlayed with gold, silver or both as can be seen in this bracelet. And then there is the fact that this is a bracelet as opposed to earrings in which they are more often found. Even pique bangles are incredibly rare, however in over 30 years of dealing in antiques, this is the first pique bracelet that we have even come across. From end to end it measures 27cm and the links themselves measure 19.1mm and the wonderful ball at the end 23.5mm in diameter. This bracelet sits so well on the wrist and thanks to the chocolate brown colour and the gorgeous star designs, this is a truly spectacular bracelet. Here is an extremely rare antique piquÃ© purse with a pocket watch that is truly a one of a kind piece that is like no other. PiquÃ© is when a material most often tortoiseshell was inlayed with either silver or gold or a combination of the two resulting in pieces of jewellery and objects of beauty that is like no other. Often found in such pieces such as earrings or brooches, finding it in something like a purse is so exceptionally rare. And then combine this with a watch and you have something which is even more hard to ever find another. The quality of craftsmanship in the case is just exquisite and of the finest quality. In superb condition it measures 80mm across by 24.1mm by 50.7mm thick, and has the most lovely tactile feel to it. With the catch on the side easy to open it then reveals its original velvet lined purse inside which also accesses the back of the watch movement to both wind and set it from here. The movement has been serviced and comes with our twelve month warranty and the dial itself measures a dainty 19.3mm in diameter.
