Here is not only and incredibly beautiful but also a very rare early Australian antique Albert chain made by William Drummond & Co in the 1890's that is still in superb condition even after 130 years has passed since being made. Traditionally the Albert chain or fob watch chain as they are also known by, was made to hold a gents pocket watch attached to a vest, however a full double Albert such as this one here, is today more commonly worn around a woman’s neck were they sit perfectly. Made in 9 carat gold, the links of this Albert chain show no wear and are in superb condition. Measuring 39.4cm from end to end, the links are just so beautiful to admire and the entire piece has a wonderful patina and heft to it that makes it both look and feel stunning around the neck. Looking closely at the long links, there is so much detail that separates this from so many others, and then the fancy links connecting them add an additional level of both charm and character. Fitted with its original swivels at each end, and its tee bar in the centre, this is a arguably one of the finest genuine antique Albert chains that you will ever find.
