It has been known for centuries that the best quality rubies come from Burma and here is an incredibly vibrant Burmese ruby set into a very classically designed ring.
Made in 18ct white gold, the ruby measures 1.70 carats and has the most perfect red colour that makes Burmese rubies so highly prized and desired.
Recently many rubies have come on the market that are glass filled or lead filled, which is a technique to improve the colour and clarity of a ruby making them go from a near worthless colour to a vibrant and strong red.
However glass filled rubies are unstable and can easily crack in a few years so it is always much better to get a ruby that has not been treated in this way, and needless to say this Burmese ruby has not been treated in such a way.
Surrounding the ruby are 14 round brilliant cut diamonds then a further three more round brilliant cut diamonds set on each side.
These diamonds total 0.60 carats and are all F to G in colour and Vs in clarity meaning that they are very lovely and white diamonds with no eye visible inclusions.
The cluster section measures 11.7mm in diameter and sits so well on the finger.
Day or night this Burmese ruby and diamond ring is just spectacular and will always look amazing on the finger.
