Made by the Elgin watch company in the United States in 1916, the 14ct gold case measures a hefty 47mm across, and both sides are plain with no engraving or engine turning design.
The 15 jewelled movement keeps perfect time and the dial displays traditional Roman numerals and sub-seconds.
The inside gold dust cover is engraved "W H Tanner 13-5-48".
