18 carat gold and steel Cartier Tank Francaise reference 2302

The Cartier Tank watch is synonymous with elegance and style and was first introduced in 1922 and has been an iconic watch ever since, and here we have a very stylish 18 carat gold and steel Cartier Tank Francaise reference 2302 fitted with the automatic movement.

The Cartier Tank Francaise was released in 1996 and has a wider case than the Tank Americaine. With the case measuring 28mm across plus the crown, it sits so well on the wrist and is very comfortable to wear all the time. With the combination of solid 18 carat yellow gold and stainless steel, this is a watch that can so easily be dressed up or down to suit the occasion.

With its distinct and iconic Roman numerals on the dial that taper in size, it also has the date window and centre sweep seconds, all of which are powered by the 20 jewelled Cartier calibre 120 that has been serviced and comes with our twelve month warranty.

In wonderful condition and so elegant, this timeless watch will never go out of fashion or style.

Description

18 carat gold and steel Cartier Tank Francaise reference 2302

This Cartier Tank Francaise is fitted with the 20 jewelled automatic Cartier calibre 120. Designed with the guilloché dial. The guilloché dial is one where an intricate design is engraved onto the dial resulting in such an elegant feature that is often seen on only this highest of quality watches.

A brief history on the Cartier Tank watch.

The Cartier Tank watch was created by Louis Cartier in 1917, and was actually inspired by the army tanks that were first used in World War One. First introduced in 1918, the Cartier Tank watch has been such an easily distinguishable model thanks to its clean straight lines, somewhat mimicking an army tank.

Variations of the Cartier Tank have been produced including the Tank Louis in 1922, the Tank Americaine in 1989, and the Tank Francaise in 1996.

Did you know the rectangle inside the numbers on the face is known as the “chemin de fer” (railroad in French).
