18ct and platinum Art Nouveau sapphire and diamond ring

Art Nouveau jewellery is so flowing and sensual and here is a very beautiful hand made 18ct and platinum Art Nouveau sapphire and diamond ring that dates from around 1910 and is destined to always be admired.

So beautifully made in a design that seems to be fluid, in the centre is a gorgeous natural sapphire that measures 1.10 carats in weight. The deep royal blue colour of this sapphire really stands out against the diamonds and the setting and has the most fantastic colour to it.

Then wrapping its way line vine leaves around the sapphire are thirty rose cut diamonds. When you look at the setting that they are in, you will notice that even the setting graduates larger then smaller in the most elegant flowing way, typical of Art Nouveau jewellery. And then there are a further three rose cut diamonds set on each shoulder and the distance from these diamonds across to the other side measures 18.8mm by 27.5mm from top to bottom. The diamonds total 0.18 carats and accentuate not only the sapphire but the entire design of the ring as well.

With a beautiful flowing design, this Art Nouveau sapphire and diamond ring is just divine and sure to get the admiration that it deserves.

Description
18ct and platinum Art Nouveau sapphire and diamond ring

This Art Nouveau sapphire and diamond ring is set with genuine antique rose cut diamonds. One of the earliest forms of diamond cuts, these have become popular once again in recent years. Entirely hand made, even the setting where the diamonds are set graduate so elegantly.

Art Nouveau rings and other forms of jewellery, often took their inspiration from nature and emulated nature and flowing lines. Often asymmetrical in design, Art Nouveau jewellery lasted a relatively short time in the history of jewellery making, and was from around 1890 to the start of World War One in 1914. Sometimes using enamel or scantly clad women in a sensual pose in the designs, Art Nouveau jewellery and designs are like no other in history.
