Here is an exquisite 18th Century pocket watch by Patry & Chaudoir that is incredible to admire from outside and within.
Made in an 18ct yellow gold French case in the 1790's, the case itself measures 46.5mm across by 62.3mm to the top of the bow and feels magnificent to hold in the palm of your hand. With the white enamel dial still in pristine condition even well after 220 years have passed, it is signed "Patry & Chaudoir"Â and "Geneve" and displays traditional Roman numerals and five minute numeral markers as well.
The edge of the case has an elegant border of green enamel with the back a lovely enamel scene of a woman looking into a mirror while caring for her hair. With the addition of seventeen seed pearls, there are also three small rose cut diamonds which all add an extra element of charm and character.
Inside is the spectacular Swiss verge full plate gilt fusee movement that has been completely serviced and runs incredibly well considering its age. It is amazing to think what was created over two centuries ago.
This is such an incredible example of an 18th Century pocket watch, and one that is well suited for any discerning collector.
