Here is an absolutely incredible antique emerald and diamond ring that not only looks so beautiful from the top but also incorporates the most exquisite work from under the ring that will absolutely captivate you.
Hand made in the early 1900's, this ring is set with an impressive 4.85 carat natural emerald and surrounded by fourteen old European cut diamonds that total 3.50 carats. Â With such an intense colour coming from the emerald, this alone is truly captivating and as is the sparkle from the diamonds which are G in colour and Vs to Si in clarity.
The combination of the large emerald with large diamonds works so well and really help to accentuate one another and the ring measures 17.7mm across by 21.9mm and as you would imagine, looks spectacular on the finger.
The emerald and diamonds are set in silver as this ring dates from the early 1900's when platinum was just starting to be used in jewellery and white gold was not yet invented and silver had been used for centuries as it helps retain the pure white from the diamonds as opposed to being set into yellow gold which would reflect the yellow into the diamonds.
The band and under section is made in 14ct white gold, and seeing the ring from under will just astound you at the extreme fine detail and quality of craftsmanship.
There was so much labour put into making this ring that would have taken hours and only be achieved by a master jeweller. With such incredible detail, you will be looking under the ring as much as from the top.
