Antique guard chain with a charming pearl set slide

Measuring 138cm in length, this wonderful antique guard chain with a charming pearl set slide can be worn in so many different ways to complete any outfit however one chooses.

Designed to hold a ladies pocket watch in the lapel, today you can still so easily put a ladies pocket watch on the end, as well as such items as a locket, seal or swivel, or anything to the hearts content, or simply leave it alone to connect to the chain to alter its length.

Made in 9 carat rose gold, the colour of the gold has that wonderful warm tone to it which is so sought after today as it does not have that very harsh pink-coppery colour often seen in modem rose gold jewellery today.

Fitted with a gorgeous slide that measures 7mm wide by 10mm, it not only has such a charming design to it, but it is also set with twelve seed pearls. Able to be moved along the chain, this allows it to be worn with the one part longer or shorter than the other depending on the outfit and occasion that it is being worn.

Made in the Victorian era of the 1880's, this is a wonderful example of an antique necklace that can be worn so many different ways.
