High grade antique Illinois pocket watch made in 1920

Like cars, the quality of the movement in a wrist or pocket watch is what truly sets one apart from another, and here is a very stylish antique Illinois pocket watch that was made in 1920 and has an incredibly high grade movement - so high in fact that it actually exceeds chronometer rating.

Made in a 14 carat gold filled case that measures 50mm across by 65mm to the top of the bow, the dial is so easy to read with the black numerals, of which they are a fantastic font in their own right, set against the pure white background with the individual seconds on the outer edge.

With elegant hands to match and the sub-seconds at the bottom, this is a beautiful dial to admire, and is as clean today as when it was made 100 years ago.

Unscrewing the back cover reveals a true masterpiece in mechanical engineering. A super 23 jewelled movement that has been adjusted to six positions. Whereas a chronometer watch or pocket watch is adjusted to five positions, this really exceeds this and goes even further in its quality.

Fitted with a Breguet hairspring, an extremely high grade micro-regulator and a solid gold centre wheel, the movement has been completely serviced, runs perfect and comes with our twelve month warranty.

Wound via the crown at the top, this is a railway grade pocket watch meaning that not only does the dial have to have numerals in an open face pocket watch, but the time is classified as a lever set movement meaning that to set the time, the front cover is unscrewed and the small lever near the 1 o'clock is pulled out, the crown turned to set the hands, then slid back in and the front cover replaced.

With a lovely plain back, this pocket watch has a wonderful heft that feels magnificent to hold in the palm of your hand and would make a wonderful gift for that special person for that special occasion.
