Tudor watches in recent years finally started to get the credit and respect that they deserve, and here is a great vintage Tudor Submariner ref 79090 dating from 1992.
Tudor was a subsidiary of Rolex in 1926 and was a watch designed to be sold at a lower price than Rolex yet all the while being highly accurate and to follow in the name of a Rolex watch. Indeed the early Tudor watches still had their cases, case backs, crowns and bracelets made by Rolex and were signed "Rolex" yet used a different movement inside.
One of the most iconic Tudor models would have to be the Tudor Submariner which was introduced 1 year after the Rolex Submariner in 1953. In 1954 the Tudor Submariner was released and made until 1995 and has remained popular and sought after by collectors.
This is the Tudor Submariner 79090 and was the first model to use the Rolex Submariner "Mercedes" hands and used an acrylic crystal even when Rolex started using a sapphire crystal.
Fitted in a 39mm Rolex case that still used the famous Rolex Submariner features such as a screw back case, it also used the Rolex screw down triplock crown and was rated to 200 meters underwater proving that this was still a serious divers watch.
Inside is the ETA calibre 2842/2 which became known as such a robust and high quality movement that will remain so reliable, and complete with our twelve month warranty will never let you down.
This Tudor Submariner can be worn all the time and always look great and be admired by collectors and everyone else who sees it as an incredibly smart looking watch.
The Tudor Submariner is finally getting the credit it rightly deserves, and this Tudor Submariner 79090 is just a fantastic looking watch.
