Made in sterling silver in the 1930's, this brooch measures an impressive 60.3mm across by 37.3mm, and thanks to the amazing colours of the enamel on the brooch, there is no doubt that this brooch will always be admired every single time that it is worn.
With incredible browns, blue and black making up the predominant colour of this brooch, the enamel skill used in creating this brooch was truly perfectly done.
With a wonderful smooth feel to the touch, this vintage butterfly brooch is one that will always be admired for its colours and size.

A brief history on David Andersen:
David Andersen founded his company in Oslo (formerly Christiania) in 1876. David Andersen was an accomplished gold and silversmith who achieved great fame early on in his career thanks to his high standard of quality and influential designs in his jewellery. Twelve years after opening, he expanded his workshop and in 1892 opened a second store.
After his death in 1901, his son Arthur took over and instigated the hyphen between the name David and Andersen. He also introduced enameling into the jewellery which was so success it has now become synonymous with David Andersen jewellery.
