Vintage stainless steel Rolex Oyster Semi-bubble back reference 6084

Here is such a handsome and stylish vintage stainless steel Rolex Oyster Semi-bubble back reference 6084 that dates from 1951 and has all the look and charm of a bygone era.

Rolex first introduced their automatic movement in 1933, and due to the somewhat large automatic rotor, the case had to be bulbous at the back, giving rise to the term "bubble back". This Rolex uses a different movement to the predecessors and has a somewhat smaller profile, however not like the completely flat watch cases of today, and is therefore referred to as a "semi-bubble back".

The look of this Rolex has all the characteristics of a vintage watch which is so sought after today - a timeless design combined with a classic look.

Fitted in the Rolex Oyster case which measures 34mm across plus the Rolex Super Oyster crown, this crown was a self-sealing crown that eliminated the need for a screw down thread as is seen with the Rolex screw down crown on the majority of Rolex models.

The dial has been completely restored and is so easy to read and looks great with the centre sweep seconds and stylish hour and minute hands.

Inside is the fully jewelled automatic Rolex movement that has been completely serviced and comes with our twelve month warranty.

Fitted on the Rolex Oyster band, this lovely vintage Rolex semi-bubble back will always get the attention that it rightly deserves.

Description
Vintage stainless steel Rolex Oyster Semi-bubble back reference 6084

A brief history on the Rolex Bubble back.

Rolex introduced to the world their first automatic movement in 1933. Although it was not the first automatic watch ever made, it did cement their name as makers of quality movements. Due to the somewhat large automatic rotor, the case had to be bulbous at the back, giving rise to the term "bubble back". Although not officially recognised as a term used by Rolex, the use of describing an early automatic Rolex as either a bubble back or semi-bubble back has entered the vintage Rolex world vernacular as standard. Rolex bubble back and semi-bubble back watches have always been seen as a reliable and collectable Rolex watch to wear all the time and/or add to any watch collection.
