Antique mine cut diamond ring made by Louis Cadby in the early 1900’s
Louis Cadby was an early Australian jeweller who traded from the late 1800's until 1939, and here is a wonderful antique diamond ring made by him in the early 1900's.
Hand made in 18 carat yellow gold, the lozenge shaped ring not only looks so elegant on the hand but accentuates the finger as well, and this ring will so easily suit any finger including making a wonderful engagement ring.
Set with three mine cut diamonds in the centre and surrounded by fourteen more, the diamonds come together to total 1.18 carats and sparkle so beautifully.
Measuring 19.8mm in length by 8.8mm across, even the band has a wonderful design to it, making it not only a stunning antique ring, but also a wonderful piece of early Australian jewellery.

These additional diamonds total 0.08 carats and then making this ring even more special, looking at it from the side reveals the most incredible and beautiful scroll work that will take your breath away. Complimented with hand engraving on the band, all of this shows how much time and attention to detail was put into making this ring by hand all those years ago.

Antique Toi et Moi diamond engagement ring made in 1911

Called a "Toi et Moi" riong, this is a French term for “You and Me” and is used for a ring with two main stones, and is believed to have started when Napoleon gave Josephine a sapphire and diamond engagement ring in 1776.

This treatment is worldwide accepted as a normal treatment and not deceiving in any way and is accepted as a standard treatment for sapphires and rubies as it remains stable and does not damage the stone. However the sapphire in this ring is a very beautiful unheat treated Ceylonese sapphire that has the most incredible and intense colour that looks spectacular.
Measuring an impressive 3.59 carats, this sapphire has been certified as having no treatment and being Ceylonese. Ceylonese sapphires have been regarded as home of some of the finest sapphires in the world, and the colour in this sapphire truly exemplifies this. With such a magnificent royal blue colour, it is highlighted by a mine cut diamond on each side.
These diamonds total 1.88 carats, and compliment the sapphire so well. With all the charm and character of being one of the earliest cuts of diamonds, this is certainly one ring that will always stand out and be admired every time it is worn.
