Antique, Antique Engagement Rings, Antique Rings, Art Deco, Art Deco Rings & Art Deco Engagement Rings
Jewellery made during the Art Deco period from the 1920's through to the 1940's often resulted in taking a traditional design and making it "modern" such as in this Art Deco sapphire and diamond ring made in the 1930's. Hand made in 18 carat yellow gold and platinum, instead of having one row of diamonds surrounding the sapphire in the centre, there are actually two clusters of diamonds - the inner cluster being set with five single cut diamonds and the outer row being set with twelve single cut diamonds. These diamonds come together to total 0.46 carats and the sapphire in the centre measures 0.16 carats. Sitting perfectly on the finger, the cluster section at the top measures 11.6mm by 10mm across and leads to the gorgeous tapered band. Made by the English jewellery company A.W Crosbee and Sons, this is a delightful and charming example of the beauty of Art Deco jewellery. Antique diamond engagement ring set with mine cut diamonds
This antique diamond engagement ring not only has all the charm and character of being hand made over 150 years ago, but is set with the earlier mine cut diamonds that are so sought after today. Sometimes these antique mine cut diamonds are also called "cushion cut" diamonds due to the somewhat cushion shape that they have, and they were the first truly brilliant cut diamond and these ones sparkle so beautifully. With the three diamonds having a total weight of 1.05 carats, the way the diamonds are supported by the claws gives the diamonds not only the maximum amount of light to enter and dance through each diamond, but the setting also adds to the character of the ring so beautifully.
