Handmade 1930’s Art Deco era diamond engagement ring
Here is such an elegant example of a genuine Art Deco diamond engagement ring that was made in 18 carat yellow gold and platinum in the 1930's and will never go out of fashion or style. Art Deco jewellery often incorporated a "shape in a shape" design, where two different shapes coexist, and this can be seen perfectly here where there are three round early brilliant cut diamonds, each set into an eight sided octagonal setting. This is such a simple yet elegant way to set the diamonds and is typical of the beauty seen in genuine Art Deco engagement rings. The diamonds total 0.86 carats and sparkle so well and are set on a very elegant knife edge band that sits on the finger perfectly. Measuring 4.9mm wide at the centre by 14.5mm across, this is a perfect example of a genuine Art Deco diamond ring that will always be loved and admired. Stock# ES9559 Circa: 1930 $5,200

Antique, Antique Engagement Rings, Antique Rings, Art Deco, Art Deco Rings & Art Deco Engagement Rings
Jewellery made during the Art Deco period from the 1920's through to the 1940's often resulted in taking a traditional design and making it "modern" such as in this Art Deco sapphire and diamond ring made in the 1930's. Hand made in 18 carat yellow gold and platinum, instead of having one row of diamonds surrounding the sapphire in the centre, there are actually two clusters of diamonds - the inner cluster being set with five single cut diamonds and the outer row being set with twelve single cut diamonds. These diamonds come together to total 0.46 carats and the sapphire in the centre measures 0.16 carats. Sitting perfectly on the finger, the cluster section at the top measures 11.6mm by 10mm across and leads to the gorgeous tapered band. Made by the English jewellery company A.W Crosbee and Sons, this is a delightful and charming example of the beauty of Art Deco jewellery. Art Deco emerald and diamond ring hand made in platinum in the 1920’s
There is something so captivating about a fine quality emerald, and combine this with a ring that was made during the wonderful Art Deco period of the 1920's and the result is this fabulous ring seen here. Entirely hand made in platinum, sitting proud in the centre is a magnificent natural emerald that measures 1.64 carats and not only has such a beautiful green colour to it, but truly exceptional clarity that allows you to see right through the stone. Whereas many modern emeralds that are coming onto the market are too dark or cloudy to see right through the emerald, this one has such a wonderful transparency to see all the way to the back of the stone that allows so much light to enter and dance through the emerald. Then there are the two larger European cut diamonds as well as the sixteen smaller European cut diamonds that are set into the ring that all come together to total 0.57 carats. The wonderful angular design of the setting into which the diamonds are set has the gorgeous characteristic that is so typical and sought after in Art Deco jewellery. Measuring 17.5mm across by 14.9mm, this ring sits so well on the finger and certainly makes a statement. Art Deco rings have always remained so popular, and when viewing this ring, it is so easy to see why. Stock# ES9486 Circa: 1920 $26,800

There is something so special and romantic about having a genuine Art Deco diamond engagement ring on your finger, and here is such a lovely example that has so much fine detail that will have you admiring it every time that you look upon it. Made in the 1930's in platinum, the detail in this ring is just wonderful and highlights the beauty of hand making a piece of jewellery combined with how fine platinum can be drawn into when making it into jewellery such as a ring. Sitting in the centre is a lovely 0.50 carat early brilliant cut diamond that is highlighted by a single cut diamond set on each side. The way the band elegant tapers down to the half round band makes it feel so comfortable on the finger, and the detail from all sides of this ring is truly amazing. Art Deco platinum diamond and pearl Toi et Moi ring
The term “Toi et Moi” is French for “You and Me” and is used for a ring with two main stones and this is believed to have started when Napoleon gave Josephine a sapphire and diamond engagement ring in 1776, and was both a popular and romantic sentiment seen during the Art Deco period when this ring was made. Hand made in platinum, the ring is set with a gorgeous 0.52 carat European cut diamond that sparkles so beautifully and sits opposite a lovely natural pearl. Unlike cultured pearls today, it is estimated that anywhere between 1 in 5,000 to 1 in 10,000 oysters produce a natural pearl, making this ring even more special. Set on a elegant band that has been beautifully hand engraved, even viewing the ring from the sides shows the wonderful craftsmanship that went into creating this ring a century ago. As beautiful and romantic today as when it was made, this would suit any finger including making a wonderful, unique and very special engagement ring. Stock# ES9254 Circa: 1920 $6,200
