Extremely rare antique pique ring made in the Victorian era
Here is an extremely rare antique pique ring made in the Victorian era that is not only made from a material that is impossible to remake today, but so incredibly hard to find made as a ring. Pique is tortoiseshell which has been inlayed with gold, silver or both and as can be seen here in this ring, it was inlayed in a wonderful geometric design that mirrors the triangular shape of the top. Click here to read an article on pique jewellery:Â https://www.kalmarantiques.com.au/articles/history-of-pique-jewellery/ Often pique jewellery is found in brooches and earrings, however rings are so incredibly hard to find, and even harder to find in good condition which this one is in. Dating from the 1870's, this is such a fabulous ring that will always be a talking point and conversation starter. The top section measures 27.5 across by 16.2mm high or 35mm from the bottom on the ring to the top, and is a size L 1/2 (US size 6) and being made in tortoiseshell can not be resized, making this as romantic as Cinderella's glass slipper. Exquisite Art Deco diamond engagement ring with the finest detail
Here is a truly exquisite Art Deco diamond engagement ring with the finest detail that was entirely hand made in platinum in the 1920's. From every angle that you look at this ring you will be amazed at all the incredible detail that went into hand making this ring during the fabulous Art Deco period. With this ring, it is not just about the diamond in the centre, nor is it about other fourteen diamonds on the sides, but it is also about the stunning work that all of these additional diamonds have been set into. The centre early brilliant cut diamond measures 0.20 carats and is claw set, however instead of just having single claws come up from the sides, the claws themselves are split into three claws that seem to reach up and hold and protect the diamond in such a protective and caring way. Then there are the seven single cut diamonds set on each side into the stunning design that would have taken hours of painstaking work to achieve and is a real testament to the talent and quality of the jeweller who made this by hand all those years ago. Whereas many rings are cast made today, it is amazing to think that the detail in this ring was all achieved by hand without the use of any computer or CAD program, making this ring a truly one-of-a-kind engagement ring. Measuring 7mm wide at the top by 18.5mm across from one side diamond over to the other, this is such a magnificent example of a genuine Art Deco diamond engagement ring that will no doubt always be truly loved and admired. 18 carat yellow gold and platinum Art Deco emerald and diamond ring
Here is such a beautiful and elegant 18 carat yellow gold and platinum Art Deco emerald and diamond ring, that would so easily suit any finger and occasion, including making a wonderful engagement ring. Quite often Art Deco jewellery took an existing design and altered it in a subtle way such as this ring here. Taking the traditional cluster design, not only is it more of a squared shape as opposed to round, but the sides have the most wonderful hour glass style shape to it. Measuring 8.2mm by 8.1mm, it leads to the yellow gold band which itself is so elegant and compliments the design perfectly. Sitting proud in the centre is a vibrant natural emerald that measures 0.16 carats and has not only a perfect green colour to it, but exceptional clarity allowing you to see right through the emerald. Highlighted by a border of ten single cut diamonds that total 0.10 carats, the edge of the setting has the millgrain finish which can be seen as the elegant crimping along the edge. The design, the emerald and diamonds, and the quality of hand making all come together to create a very beautiful Art Deco ring. Stock# ES8319 Circa: 1920 $Sold.
18 carat gold gypsy set diamond ring made in 1910
This ring has the style and design to let it so easily be worn anywhere thanks to the diamonds being set into the band making this not only secure but so comfortable to wear all the time. Hand made in 18 carat yellow gold in London in 1910, the ring is set with three antique European cut diamonds. The centre diamond weighs 0.38 carats and the two side diamonds total 0.50 carats, and they have been set into the band in what is often referred to as "gypsy setting". Often seen in antique rings, there is a star pattern surrounding the stone which was created by the jeweller pushing into the metal resulting in not only the pattern but also a bead to add to the security of the stone. This simple yet elegant feature adds such a lovely aspect to the ring and being set into the band makes it very easy to wear all the time. At the centre the ring measures 8.1mm wide and tapers down elegantly to 3.0mm wide at the back. The style and design of this ring will so easily allow it to suit any finger as well as being able to be worn along with other antique rings as well as seamlessly blend in with modern rings. Art Deco diamond engagement ring handmade in platinum the 1920’s
Rings made during the Art Deco period of the 1920's to the 1940's often took a traditional design, and altered it to a new fabulous design such as can be seen here in this very beautiful Art Deco diamond ring that was handmade in platinum the 1920's. Starting with the traditional diamond solitaire, the jeweller that created this ring set the early brilliant cut diamond with traditional claws to secure the ring. However looking close you will see that each of the claws are split into two making such an elegant feature to the ring. However it is what is under the diamond that makes such a statement to this ring and exemplifies the thought and detail that went into making this ring. Under the diamond is a wonderful scalloped plate design that not only makes this ring so unique but also reflects the light so well back through the diamond as well as into the eye. This diamond measures 0.51 carats and with this section underneath it, seems so much larger and will certainly catch the eye of all who see it. Bead set on each side are three single cut diamonds that total 0.06 carats and add the right amount of sparkle to emphasise and highlight the elegance and craftsmanship of this beautiful ring. Perfect as an engagement ring, it measures 7.2mm at the centre by 14.3mm from one end diamond across to the other end diamond. This ring shows why Art Deco jewellery is as popular today as when it was first made all those years ago. Stock# ES8377 Circa: 1920 $Sold.
