Asprey have been dealing in jewellery and silver as far back as 1781 and have continued to make a name for themselves as one of London's leading jewellers even to this day, and here is a gorgeous miniature Asprey sterling silver enamel boudoir carriage clock dating from the start of the 1900's that looks so elegant and regal. This carriage clock was made in sterling silver and bears the British import hallmark for 1919 and is engraved on the back "MK Dudley Sept 23rd 1928" when it was given as a gift. The case is just gorgeous with the blue guilloché enamel with a fine white enamel border. Guilloché enamel is where the silver is engraved prior to firing resulting in a gorgeous pattern below the enamel that comes through so beautifully. With the most delightful powder blue guilloché that really makes this carriage clock stand out, it leads the eye so well to the white dial that is signed "Asprey" and bears Roman numerals. The case measures a dainty 50mm tall (62mm to the top of the bow) by 35mm wide by 25mm deep and looks absolutely gorgeous no matter where it is displayed. Inside the movement is signed JTC which is the mark for the Geneva Clock Company who were regarded as the finest miniature clock makers of the time and comes with our twelve month warranty. This elegant miniature clock with a superb movement and retailed by an equally superb jeweller will always look so elegant every time that you look at it. Stock# ES7106 Hallmarked: 1919 $Sold
Tudor was a subsidiary of Rolex in 1926 and was a watch designed to be sold at a lower price than Rolex yet all the while being highly accurate and to follow in the name of a Rolex watch and the early Tudor watches still had their cases, case backs, crowns and bracelets made by Rolex and were signed “Rolex” yet used a different movement inside, and this is the case for this great looking vintage Tudor Prince Oysterdate Big Rose reference 7990/4. Dating from 1968, this is one of the more rarer models of Tudor Prince Oysterdate watches that come on the market for a few reasons. Firstly as it was made in the 1960's it has the large rose over the word Tudor on the dial, and this is often known as the "Big Rose" as subsequent models used the smaller rose. Secondly it has the full Rolex Oyster bracelet complete with the Rolex buckle. Again later models used the Rolex made Oyster band but changed the buckle to have Tudor on it instead. The end links are numbered 357 which is correct for this model and the Oyster links are the fabulous fold over design. And then it has the roulette date wheel that changes from black numbers on odd numbered days to red on even numbered days, hence the term "Roulette" date wheel. The Rolex Oyster case still has the screw down Rolex crown and Rolex case back and measures 34mm across plus the crown and is surprisingly larger on the wrist than it would seem. Inside is the incredibly reliable 25 jewelled calibre 2484 that runs beautifully and comes with our twelve month warranty. This is a great looking and sought after Tudor Prince Oysterdate that will always look so good on the wrist. Abraham-Louis Breguet is arguably the worlds most famous watchmaker whose designs and inventions changed not just the horological world, but the world as a whole, and his most famous apprentice that ever worked under him was Charles Oudin, and here we are proud to have on offer an extremely rare and important chatelaine pocket watch by Charles Oudin. Made in Paris around 1830, it is astonishing to see the detail and craftsmanship that went into making this incredible piece, from not only the pocket watch aspect , but also the beautiful sterling silver chatelaine to hold it. A chatelaine was designed to hang on the belt with accessories such as sewing implements hanging from chains or in this case a pocket watch. From end to end the chatelaine and pocket watch measure 18.7cm in length and the pocket watch 4.4cm wide. The pocket watch case is made from ebony. Ebony is a heavy dense dark brown to black hardwood that is also often associated with chess pieces and across the front of the pocket watch case are Roman numerals on white enamel. The back has in sterling silver the monogram of "RM" that looks wonderful and gives this antique piece an extra addition of history. Opening the case at the bottom reveals the immaculate and all original white enamel dial that now displays numerals and is signed "Ch. Oudin Breveté" and "Palais Royal 52". The hands are all original and are actually turned by the finger to set the time and the key which itself is ebony and sterling silver has a small ratchet system that when winding the pocket watch will turn one way and wind back the other making it very easy to wind without removing the key from the hole. The movement inside has been fully serviced and is all original and comes with our twelve month warranty. This really is a piece of history that you can hold in your hand, and this chatelaine pocket watch by Charles Oudin is just incredible. Stock#ES3335 Circa: 1830 $Sold.
