Made in a design that accentuates the finger so well, this antique emerald and diamond lozenge shaped ring dating from the 1890's will always get the attention that it rightly deserves. The ring was hand made in 18 carat yellow gold and sterling silver, and this was a combination used during this era as white gold was not yet invented, and platinum, although already discovered, was not used in jewellery until after the 1900’s like white gold. In the centre is such a wonderful quality natural Colombian emerald that has such a fine green colour and excellent transparency allowing you to see right through the emerald. For centuries Colombia has been the home to the finest emeralds in the world, and this one has the most gorgeous green colour to it. Measuring 0.30 carats, it is then surrounded by thirty four antique European cut diamonds that sparkle magnificently and highlight the beautiful emerald sitting proudly in the centre. These diamonds total 1.76 carats and day or night, there is little doubt that this ring will always be admired. Measuring 10.2mm across by 21.6mm in length, the shape and length accentuate the finger so well. So elegant in design and set with magnificent gemstones, this is a wonderful example of a late Victorian era ring that is perfect for all occasions. Stock# ES8308 Circa: 1890 $Sold.
