Colombian emeralds have long been regarded as the finest in the world, thanks to their intense green colour and excellent transparency, all of which can be seen here in this antique Colombian emerald and diamond ring. Dating from the 1890's Victorian era the ring was hand made in 18ct yellow gold and has the most incredible scroll work on the side. The level of attention given to this ring is matched in the quality of both the emeralds and the diamonds set into the ring. Starting with the three natural emeralds, they are of the finest quality with everything that is desired in a Colombian emerald. The colour of the emeralds are the intense green that is so highly prized. This colour alone shows why Colombian emeralds are so highly regarded. Combine this with excellent transparency that allows you to see right through the emeralds, and this is yet another reason for their continued popularity. And finally with all emeralds come natural inclusions and in a fine quality emerald the inclusion level is low which again highlights the quality of these emeralds. And then there are the two main diamonds set on each side of the centre emerald, and looking closely you will see there are an additional eight rose cut diamonds to add that extra sparkle and charm to an already incredible ring. The emeralds total 1.30 carats in weight and the diamonds 1.10 carats and from one side across to the other, this distance measures 20mm by6mm at the centre. Looking at the side of the ring shows the incredible scroll work design that itself is just spectacular to admire and a real testament to the quality of hand making this ring over a century ago. From all angles, day or night, this antique emerald and diamond ring is just spectacular. Stock# ES7435 Circa: 1890 $Sold.
Here is an absolutely incredible antique emerald and diamond ring that not only looks so beautiful from the top but also incorporates the most exquisite work from under the ring that will absolutely captivate you. Hand made in the early 1900's, this ring is set with an impressive 4.85 carat natural emerald and surrounded by fourteen old European cut diamonds that total 3.50 carats. Â With such an intense colour coming from the emerald, this alone is truly captivating and as is the sparkle from the diamonds which are G in colour and Vs to Si in clarity. The combination of the large emerald with large diamonds works so well and really help to accentuate one another and the ring measures 17.7mm across by 21.9mm and as you would imagine, looks spectacular on the finger. The emerald and diamonds are set in silver as this ring dates from the early 1900's when platinum was just starting to be used in jewellery and white gold was not yet invented and silver had been used for centuries as it helps retain the pure white from the diamonds as opposed to being set into yellow gold which would reflect the yellow into the diamonds. The band and under section is made in 14ct white gold, and seeing the ring from under will just astound you at the extreme fine detail and quality of craftsmanship. There was so much labour put into making this ring that would have taken hours and only be achieved by a master jeweller. With such incredible detail, you will be looking under the ring as much as from the top. From all angles, this is such a magnificent antique emerald and diamond ring. Stock# R812 Circa: 1900 $Sold
