Measuring 46cm and 1.9cm wide, it is fitted with a bolt ring to connect and can be worn at the back of the neck, or have a locket hanging from the front. This collar was made over 130 years ago, yet it still has such a modern and contemporary look to it that will also suit being worn for any occasion, day or night. Made in sterling silver in the 1890's, the detail in the links is amazing and the links themselves have such a smooth and tactile feel to them. Measuring 45cm in length, the links measure 1.6cm wide and at one end is a bolt ring to connect it together which can be worn at the back or at the front for not only a feature, but to also hang something off it such as a locket. This antique collar has such a wonderful solid heft to it that combined with the intricate details of the links, makes it a truly exceptional collar and one of the finest around. Collars have been popular for centuries, originating as far back as Egyptian times, and this one made in sterling silver dates from the Victorian period of the 1880's, and sits so comfortably around the neck. Measuring 50.5cm in length, at one end is a bolt ring which can be placed at the back of the neck, at the front on its own, or used to attach a locket or seal to. The round links measure 18.1mm in diameter and those beautiful oval links each with so much detail measure 10.1mm wide. The detail is so beautiful and will have people admiring this collar from near or far.
