Beautifully hand engraved antique sterling silver locket
Here is such a beautifully hand engraved antique sterling silver locket that dates from the late Victorian era of the 1890's and is so incredible to admire from both sides.
Measuring 34.1mm by 47.1mm, this is the perfect size to wear around the neck and get the attention and admiration that it so rightly deserves. The quality and detail in the hand engraving is just amazing and is a real testament to the jewellers during this time and what they could achieve. The time needed to hand engrave both sides would have been immense and there is nothing like hand engraving. Whereas now photo lockets are machine engraved or even more commonly just pressed and stamped out, nothing beats the look and tactile feel of something that has been hand engraved.
And inside two photos will easily be able to be placed making this then become so much more personal and special to the wearer.
Regardless of which side is being shown, there is little doubt that this antique locket will always be admired and appreciated.
