Art Deco guilloché enamel, diamond and pearl pendant with a locket
Guilloché is a decorative technique in which a very precise and repetitive pattern is engraved into an underlying material such as gold or silver and then the enamel applied over the top. After the firing process is completed, it is polished back to a high lustre revealing the engraved pattern below the surface. The result is an incredible look that is breathtaking to admire such as can be seen in this fabulous Art Deco pendant.
Hand made in the 1920's in 18 carat yellow gold and platinum, the pendant measures 25mm across by 33mm to the top of the bail, with the design so captivating that will certainly be admired from near or far.
With a border of twenty four rose cut diamonds and four natural pearls, the way it draws the eye to the centre is just incredible. With the violet-blue g enamel still looking amazing even after 100 years have passed, there are a further seventeen rose cut diamonds and a final natural pearl sitting in the centre. Even the bail at the top is discreetly set with two more rose cut diamonds with all the diamonds having a total weight of 0.20 carats.
And then not only is this just a magnificent pendant, but on the reverse side is a locket compartment for a photo of a loved one to make this even more personal and special.
This is truly such an elegant piece of jewellery and one that is destined to become a treasured family heirloom.
