The discovery of King Tutankhamunâ€˜s tomb by Howard Carter in 1922 influenced heavily styles and designs of the Art Deco period resulting in what is known as 'Egyptian revival" and this style and design can be seen here in this lovely sterling silver Art Deco photo locket made in the 1930's. The design on both sides has a wonderful design to it influenced by the discoveries in Egypt and with the locket measuring 28.2mm across by 35mm it is a lovely large size that will always stand out and be admired whenever it is worn. Here is a spectacular Art Deco synthetic ruby and diamond locket made in Russia in the 1920's that has the aesthetics that will make it always be admired every time that it is worn. Made in 14 carat yellow gold in Russia during the fabulous Art Deco era, the locket measures 35.8mm across by 45.5mm to the top of the bail for the chain and is the perfect size to wear all the time. Able to hold two photos inside, there is nothing as personal as a photo locket and this one is so unique and special and looks as beautiful today as when it was made. Set with a 0.18 carat semi-modern cut diamond in the centre and four rose cut diamonds on each corner, that total 0.04 carats, these corner diamonds are set into the most elegant triangular setting which exemplify the beauty and elegance of Art Deco jewellery. And then there are the four vibrant synthetic rubies that total 0.40 carats that stand out so well against the rich yellow of the gold.
