Jewellery from the Art Deco era of the 1920's is still as popular today as all those years ago, and the Australian Lightning Ridge black opal is still considered as the best in the world, and when these two combine such as in this magnificent Art Deco opal and diamond pendant, you get something that is just exquisite. This pendant is not simply displaying an incredible opal and set with diamonds, rather the design of the cluster around the opal and the way it leads up with the open work scroll design is just so beautiful and elegant. In total there are 21 diamonds with a total weight of 3.77 carats which makes this pendant sparkle magnificently even from afar and then looking closely the diamonds have been millgrain set which can be seen as the elegant crimping around the edge of the setting which was popular and often seen in Art Deco jewellery. The quality and craftsmanship of the setting is just so fine and exquisite and up there with the finest of work. And then there is the magnificent solid black opal that is just superb and the finest of quality. The amount of colours in this opal shows just why the Australian Lightning Ridge black opal is truly the best of the best. Measuring 1.33 carats, the quality of this opal compliments the quality of the diamonds so well and really makes this pendant stand out. The pendant itself measures 16mm wide at the bottom by 35.8mm to the top diamond where the platinum chain is attached and laid out from end to end the chain measures 45cm allowing the pendant to sit perfectly on the neckline and always be admired.
