Diamond engagement ring hand made by us in platinum and our own gold
Many rings today are cast or CAD designed and made, and while many can be absolutely beautiful, there is nothing quite like a ring that has been made entirely by hand using techniques of a bygone era such as this diamond engagement ring made by our master jeweller and incorporating two fantastic and unique aspects.
Hand made in platinum and our very own 18 carat Kalmar Yellowrose gold, it is best to take a moment to explain this.
Gold can be made into a combination of carats and colour by adding other alloys into the gold when molten. For example, adding more or less copper will make the gold a rose or pink colour, silver among other white alloys can produce white gold, and then there is 75% gold in the allow it is 18 carat gold and when 37.5% gold, it is 9 carat gold. Knowing all of this, our Master Jeweller who painstakingly hand made this ring created our own 18 carat Kalmar Yellowrose gold that has the most magnificent and incredible soft yellow to rose colour that looks amazing on the skin and has such an incredible warm tone to it. It truly is unlike straight rose gold nor yellow gold and looks absolutely incredible day or night.
Then this ring is not only set with a diamond in the centre and three more on each side, but these are all antique diamonds that adds even more to the charm, uniqueness and character of the ring.
In the centre sits a 0.74 carat round early brilliant cut diamond that is H in colour and Si in clarity and on each side are three single cut diamonds that total 0.12 carats. And yet to make the ring even more special is the incredible setting with so much detail that they are set into. Finished with a millgrain setting which is the elegant crimping along the edge of the setting, all of this in platinum then leads to the gorgeous 18 carat Kalmar Yellowrose.

Antique diamond engagement ring set with unique pear cut diamonds
The cut of these diamonds are truly fabulous and not only would this ring suit any finger and occasion, but it would also make a very beautiful and unique antique diamond engagement ring.
Hand made in 18 carat yellow gold in the late Victorian era of the 1890's, the ring is set with a European cut diamond in the centre that measures 0.45 carats. However instead of having another European cut diamond on each side, there is the most incredible antique pear cut diamond that look amazing. These fancy pear cut diamonds total 0.90 carats and they accentuate the tapering of the width across the top of the ring so well.
Then set on either side of the centre diamond as well as at each end, there are a total of six rose cut diamonds to add to not only the sparkle of the ring, but charm and character as well. Having a total weight of 0.06 carats, although these diamonds are small, they add a gorgeous sparkle to the ring and just like the other diamonds have the charm and character of being cut by hand,
And then on the side of the ring is the most beautiful scroll work that compliments the entire ring so well and shows just how much attention and care was put into making this ring all those years ago.

Art Deco diamond engagement ring made in white gold

Art Deco diamond cluster ring that was hand made in the 1930’s
There is something so special about rings from the Art Deco period, from the designs and styles that have never gone out of fashion, to the beautiful quality and attention to detail that can only be achieved from making something from hand rather than a computer, and here is a very beautiful diamond cluster ring from the Art Deco period of the 1930's.
Hand made in 18 carat gold, the cluster design of diamonds has just the right proportions to look perfect on the finger with the six early brilliant cut diamonds being slightly smaller than the one in the centre. The outer diamonds total 0.36 carats with the centre one measuring 0.16 carats and the cluster itself measures 8.5mm in diameter.

Sitting in the centre is a vibrant European cut diamond that measures 0.76 carats and has all the charm and character of being cut by hand over a century ago. Platinum diamond engagement ring set with a mine cut diamond
This diamond engagement ring was beautifully hand made by our Master Jeweller in not only a style and design reminiscent of yesteryear, but is also set with genuine antique cut diamonds, including the wonderful mine cut diamond in the centre.
Made entirely in platinum, the mine cut diamond in the centre measures 1.58 carats and looks amazing sitting there so proudly. It is N in colour and VVS1 in clarity, and the diamond has such a natural warm colour to it that really is so wonderful and exciting. So many people are caught up with wanting a very white diamond, however although this diamond is an N colour, it has such a lovely tone to it that looks even better set into the pure white of the platinum. Highlighted by three single cut diamonds set on each side that come together to total 0.18 carats, these diamonds not only add to the sparkle, but highlight the fine detail on each shoulder.

Diamond engagement ring in platinum and our own 16 carat gold
It is one thing to design a ring on a computer with the help of a CAD program and have a ring cast in gold, it is another to have a ring that has been entirely made by hand in not only an antique style, but also using techniques used years ago as well as being made in a very unique colour and carat of gold.

Sitting proud in the centre is a gorgeous antique mine cut diamond which measures 0.51 carats and is H in colour and Si in clarity, meaning that it faces up lovely and white and has no inclusions that you can see with the naked eye. The mine cut diamond was first cut in the early 1700's and has become so popular in recent years that modern diamond workshops in Antwerp and India have started to cut diamonds once again in this cut, however nothing beats a genuine antique diamond.
Then set on each side are three single cut diamonds that have been set in such a beautiful setting with a millgrain finish. The attention to detail is just wonderful and makes this ring so exciting to look at from every angle.

It is K in colour and VS in clarity and before you think that the diamond is tinted, you really have to see this ring as it will certainly change your opinion as set into the yellowrose and platinum, this diamond faces up so lovely and much whiter that you would think.
Set on each side are three single cut diamonds that come together to total 0.18 carats and these earlier cut diamonds were used in this ring in keeping with the antique design.

This vintage diamond engagement ring dates from the 1960's and was so beautifully hand made in 18 carat yellow and white and was created in such a traditional and timeless design that has never gone out of fashion or style.
In the centre is a lovely round brilliant cut diamond that measures 0.54 carats and is then highlighted by three single cut diamonds on each shoulder. These single cut diamonds total 0.06 carats and add the right amount of sparkle to the ring as a whole.
