This is a wonderful and very beautiful Victorian era ring that was made in the 1860's in 12ct gold.
12ct gold (along with 22ct, 18ct, 15ct and 9ct) was used in England from 1854 until 1931, and then the standard changed ot just 22ct, 18ct, 14ct and 9ct and 15ct and 12ct gold was no longer used.
The ring is set with 3 wonderful amethysts and 6 natural pearls, and the design and hand engraving is just wonderful.
From a truly romantic era, this ring is so typical of the Victorian jewellery of this time and will have you admiring it every time that it is on your finger.
Don't be put off by the age and think that it can't be worn - it can. Of course due care would need to be considered, but there is no reason why this ring can't still be worn all the time.
This is a very sweet Victorian antique ring for someone who truly appreciates fine antique jewellery.
