15 carat gold antique garnet earrings made in the 1880’s
Made over 140 years ago, these are a fantastic example of Victorian era earrings that look as beautiful today as when they were made.
Dating from the 1880’s, these earrings were made in 15 carat gold which has achieved such a wonderful patina and are set with two rhodolite garnets in each earring.
Garnets come in a wide variety of colours from the commonly found deep rich burgundy colour, to the orange spessartite garnets and the rare green demantoid garnets as well as a burgundy-purple colour as can be seen in these rhodolite garnets which look amazing.
With such an elegant design, each earring measures 13.2mm across by 38.5mm from the bottom to the top of the shepherd hooks and have a beautiful fluid movement to them that sways romantically when worn.
