18 carat gold and steel diamond dial Rolex Datejust 16013

The Rolex Datejust in gold and steel has remained such an iconic model by Rolex and has stood the test of time, and here is a great vintage Rolex Datejust that was made in 1986 and is fitted with the diamond dial.

Measuring 36mm across plus the Rolex screw down crown, this also is the timeless size that sits so well on the wrist and is comfortable to wear all the time.

With the combination of 18 carat yellow gold and stainless steel that looks even better set against the champagne coloured dial, the dial with its ten diamonds sparkles beautifully day or night, and is fitted on the 18 carat yellow gold and steel Rolex Jubilee band.

Inside it is powered by the 27 jewelled automatic Rolex calibre 3035 that has just come back from a full service and comes with our twelve month warranty.

A true classic watch, this gents Rolex Datejust will always be commented on and never go out of fashion or style.

18 carat gold and steel diamond dial Rolex Datejust 16013

This vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust watch is the reference 16013 and was made in 1986 in 18 carat yellow gold and stainless steel.

A brief history on the Rolex automatic calibre 3035

Rolex released their calibre 3035 in 1977 as the movement to take over from their esteemed calibre 1570. This meant that it not just had to be better, it had to make people realise that this was such a leap forward in watch movements which it was of course.

To begin with, it was Rolex's first gents watch to have a high beat movement. By increasing the balance speed from 19,800bph to 28,800bph, this new movement now offered an even greater level of accuracy than the earlier model, which itself was so highly regarded.

This new speed of the 3035 causes the seconds hand to now "tick" eight times per second, giving Rolex their iconic smooth sweep that is so characteristic of Rolex watches today.

The Rolex 16013 models used the 27 jewelled Rolex calibre 3035 which had an upgraded power reserve of 50 hours and along with this increase in its power reserve and frequency, the Rolex calibre 3035 was also was the first automatic movement to feature a quickset function.
