This brooch is so typical of the style of the 1870’s and is still in superb condition even after 140 years.
Made in 15ct gold, the patina alone that this antique brooch has achieved is just so special.
However it is the design of the brooch with that wonderful work and the blue enamel surrounding the natural coral and diamond that really sets this piece apart from so many.
The coral itself is completely natural and has not been dyed or stained in any way as is very common with coral today.
The brooch measures 4.9cm by 3.6cm and also has a locket compartment in the reverse to allow you to put a photo of a loved one.
The back is engraved J.M. Moran and adds to the character of this brooch so well.
A very attractive antique brooch that looks stunning!
