18ct gold and platinum Art Deco diamond engagement ring

If there is one era that has never gone out of fashion, it would have to be the Art Deco era of the 1920's to the 1940's and here is a very beautiful 18ct gold and platinum Art Deco diamond engagement ring that is so elegant and beautiful to admire.

Wonderfully hand made, the advantage of hand making a ring is that it is so much stronger than a cast made ring and also allows for two different metals to be used, in this case the gold and the platinum as well as being able to get lovely fine detail.

In the centre is a vibrant round brilliant cut diamond measuring just over half a carat in weight at 0.53 carats and is J in colour and VS in clarity.

Set into platinum guarantees that the setting is very strong and secure and on each side is the most attractive design that shows just one of the reasons why there is nothing quite like a genuine Art Deco engagement ring to adorn your finger.

From where the platinum design starts at one end, and finishes at the other, this distance measures 15.8mm and also measures 5.9mm wide at the centre.

This diamond engagement ring sits so well on the finger and will easily accommodate a wedding ring to sit along side it if desired and either with a wedding ring or not, it will always be loved and admired.

Description

A brief article on Art Deco diamond engagement rings:

The Art Deco period was between the 1920's to the 1940's and was as popular today in style and design as when they were made all those years ago.

Commonly made in gold or platinum or a combination of both, platinum was very popular during this period as it is a very pure white metal that is wonderful to work with to obtain very fine intricate detail.

With a combination of older cut diamonds re-set into rings or the "newer" round brilliant cut diamond that was being perfected in the early 20th century, the use of other gemstones such as rubies and sapphires is also commonly seen in many Art Deco engagement rings.
