1950's Retro era smoky quartz, ruby and diamond ring

1950's era Retro jewellery is simply fabulous and always looks so amazing and has such a unique style and character that is all unto itself.

Often made with a bold design, Retro rings such as this one here have become so popular in recent years.
This Retro ring is very typical of the 1950's and was hand made in 18ct rose gold.
Set with a very large smokey quartz stone that measures 11 carats in size the cut and shape is amazing.
The colour of the stone looks fabulous set against the rose gold and matches so well as a colour combination.

Set on each side of the ring are two single cut diamonds and two round brilliant cut diamonds with the total diamond weight being 0.48 carats.
In the late 19th to early 20th Century synthetic gemstone were produced for the first time and here in this ring 4 synthetic rubies are set on each side.
Synthetic gemstones were embraced by jewellers as they could now obtain quite easily gemstones that could be calibrated and cut to size and as can be seen here are set amongst the quartz, diamonds and 18ct gold so were not thought of as any cheap substitute for the natural material.

From one ruby across to the other side, this distance measures 23mm across by 22.4mm from top to bottom of the smoky quartz.
This 1950's era Retro ring looks sensational on the finger and is one that will always be admired and loved to be worn everyday with pride.
