1952 Omega Grand Deluxe reference 14607
$14,600.00
Here is a stunning and very rare example of a vintage Omega dating from 1952, the Omega “Grand Deluxe” that has such a distinct case shape and is one of the rarer versions of these around by not only having a hobnail finish to the case, and not only in 18 carat gold, but in 18 carat rose gold.
The hobnail finish is one where the design has small square protrusions which can be seen at the top and bottom of the case just before the watch band. This not only gives the watch such a unique feature, but also an added tactile feel to it, and one that captures the light just right.
Then there is the case design with those gorgeous lugs that are so typical of the 1950’s when this watch was made. Measuring 31.2mm plus the crown, or 33.2mm across with those longer horizontal lugs by 41.8mm, this watch sits so well on the wrist where it will no doubt always be admired.
With the dial achieving a very lovely patina and highlighted with the rose gold index markers and hands, this is such an elegant watch that will look perfect in the boardroom as well as for that special evening dinner.
And finally there is the movement. Inside it is powered by 17 jewelled “bumper” automatic Omega calibre 344. Affectionately called a “bumper automatic” these were the first generation of automatic movements made by Omega where the rotor instead of rotating a full 360 degrees, goes back and forth against the solid plate, resulting in a wonderful “bump” as it moves and winds the watch. This movement has been serviced by our in-store Omega certified watchmaker, runs beautifully and comes with our twenty four month warranty.
Not only are we an authorised Omega watch service centre, but our in-house watchmakers can service your Omega watch as well as other brands, so please feel free to bring in your watch or pocket watch for a free quote.
This is such an exciting watch, and shows just why vintage Omega watches have never gone out of style or fashion.
