One of the most iconic Rolex models would have to be the Rolex Day Date President watch and here is one that has so many wonderful and unique features that will separate it from many others.
To begin with, this Rolex Day Date is the 1803 model and dates from 1959. Made 3 years after its release, the solid 18 carat yellow gold case measures the iconic 36mm in size which looks great on the wrist.
Fitted with its original pie-pan dial, this is the term given to a dial that dips down at the edge giving it such an elegant and distinct look to it. This feature alone gives it such a great vintage look to it, which is complimented further by being fitted with its original Rolex Alpha hands that differ to later hands by being wider at the centre then taper to such an elegant point at the end. Combine this with the gorgeous index markers, and you have a watch that not only looks great on the wrist, but will be such a talking point.
Inside it is powered by the beautiful 25 jewelled automatic Rolex calibre 1555 that was produced for nearly 20 years that has just come back from a complete service and not only does it run perfectly and comes with our twelve month warranty, but it is still fitted with its original butterfly rotor. The butterfly rotor has the cut-out section at the centre giving it the name "butterfly", and these were often replaced with later rotors without the cut-out section, making this Rolex even more exciting.
This truly is a great example of a classic Rolex Day Date watch that will remain forever stylish and elegant.

A brief history on the Rolex Day Date "President" watch.
Since its release in 1956, the Rolex Day Date President has always remained a sought after Rolex model. The Rolex Day Date became one to represent success and accomplishment as it was worn by some very influential people. Becoming known as the "Presidents watch" as several US presidents wore one. These included US Presidents such as Dwight Eisenhower, John F Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon. The Rolex Day Date has also been worn by Winston Churchill. Initially the tern President referred to the type of bracelet attached to the Day Date, however it soon came to commonly refer to the entire timepiece. The Rolex Day Date 1803 was introduced in 1961 and over the years has undergone some changes. Most notably with the movement, and until recently a now larger watch case.
