1971 Omega De Ville "Emerald" watch

Here we have one seriously cool looking vintage Omega De Ville watch - the Omega De Ville "Emerald" watch.

The 'Emerald" line was introduced by Omega in 1971 (when this watch was made) as having an emerald cut glass. This produces a wonderful design and look to the watch which is so unique and looks sensational.

To further make this ladies Omega De Ville look even better is the chocolate brown dial that graduates in colour from darker on the sides and lighter in the middle.

Fitted in a stainless steel case measures 32mm (or 40 to the end of each lug) by 24mm plus the crown and is powered inside by a 17 jewelled manual wind Omega calibre 620 that has been fully serviced and comes with our 1 year warranty.

Quite often people ask if the watch has the original band and the simple answer is no as more often than not, nothing is worse than a 25 or so year old worn leather band that looks and smells terrible, however this Omega De Ville goes one step better. Not only does it have its original band and buckle, the condition of the band is superb and will easily be able to be worn today.

This is a great vintage Omega De Ville and you will be hard pressed to find another one quite like it.

Where can I service my Omega watch?

When we expanded and renovated our store in late 2022, we put in not only a full watchmaking and polishing workshop, but two watchmakers. Our head watchmaker, Lorenzo Del Rosso, used to used to work for Tag Heuer, LVMH and then Rolex, before coming to Kalmar Antiques. We also now an authorised Omega watch service centre. This allows us to be able to service your Omega watch to full Omega specifications.

Along with Omega watches, we can service other watches such as Longines, Breitling, Cartier and Patek Philippe to name a few.

How often should I service my Omega?

As per official OMEGA guidelines, the service frequency depends on the use of the watch and the environment in which it is worn. The water resistance can, for example, be affected by the aging of the gaskets or by an accidental shock. Therefore, we recommend that you have the water resistance checked once a year and a complete service performed every 5 to 8 years.

Kalmar Antiques are now an authorised OMEGA watch service centre. We are based in the heart of Sydney in the Queen Victoria Building.

Should I take my watch to an authorised OMEGA service centre?

Taking your watch to an authorised OMEGA watch service centre such as Kalmar Antiques, will ensure that not only is your watch serviced to the highest standards, but only genuine Omega parts are used. This will also allow the watch to be covered by a two year warranty.
