2001 Rolex Sea Dweller model 16600 with box and papers.

The Rolex Sea Dweller model 16600 is the big brother to the Rolex Submariner and has now been discontinued by Rolex for the Rolex Deep Sea Sea Dweller, and here is a fantastic Rolex Sea Dweller model 16600 from 2001 complete with its box and papers.

There are a few differences between the Rolex Submariner and the Rolex Sea
Dweller, namely in the Rolex Sea Dweller it is fitted with the helium escape valve on the side of the case, and the case itself as well as the sapphire crystal are each both 1mm thicker.

The crystal being 1mm thicker has no bubble magnified date
window, giving it a very sleek look similar to the Rolex Submariner no-date model.

The other difference thanks to the thicker case and crystal as well as the helium escape valve is the extreme depth that this watch can go to - a massive
4,000ft/1,220m, 4 times that of the Rolex Submariner.

Measuring 40mm across plus the Rolex screw down crown, it is fitted on the Rolex Oyster band which is in superb condition as is the fully jewelled automatic movement which comes with our 1 year warranty.

This Rolex Sea-Dweller comes with box and papers and is such a great looking Rolex watch for any occasion, especially
when being worn deep sea diving where it was designed and intended for.

Where can I service my Rolex watch in Sydney?

Kalmar Antiques now employ a Rolex trained watchmaker on site!

When we expanded and renovated our store in late 2022, we put in not only a full watchmaking and polishing workshop, but a watchmaker who used to work for Rolex for nearly seven years. This allows us to be able to service your Rolex to Rolex standards, as well as other watch brands such as Omega, Cartier and Patek Philippe to name a few. We are also now an authorised OMEGA watch service centre. We are the only authorised OMEGA service centre in Sydney CBD.

How often should I service my Rolex?

We recommend to service your Rolex every five years. If you wear the watch in water, we strongly suggest having your Rolex watch pressure tested once a year. This also applies to any other brand of watch that is worn in the water.

The Rolex Sea Dweller is the big brother to the iconic Rolex Submariner. With the Rolex Sea Dweller 16600 able to go to a much further depth of 4,000 feet, it is also fitted with a helium escape valve. With a clean look as there is no date window magnifier, the Rolex Sea Dweller has long lasted the test of time. A truly iconic watch by Rolex, the Rolex Sea Dweller looks great no matter where or when it is worn.
