Antique 15 carat gold hand engraved signet ring made in 1895
This antique signet ring was beautifully hand engraved on the side. Hand engraving is far superior to machine engraving as the detail is much finer and smooth to the touch and feel. It is so hard to find nice solid rings for a man, and this antique signet ring is just perfect.
A brief history on signet rings:
Signet rings go as far back to ancient Egypt over 4,000 years ago, and use of the term “signet†or “sealâ€, is from the Latin “sigillum†(seal), diminutive of signum (sign) and dates back at least to the second half of the thirteenth century. This antique signet ring is set hand engraved on the sides.
