Here is a very handsome and solid antique 18ct gold centre seconds chronograph pocket watch made in 1903 that feels perfect to hold in the palm of your hand and has such an elegant dial thanks to the Roman numerals and large centre sweep second hand.
Made in 18 carat yellow gold, the case measures 52.5mm by 72mm to the top of the bow and not only is the case in wonderful condition, but the hinges and spring on the front cover is as well, which is a true testament to the quality of this pocket watch.
Technology at the time didn't allow for time to be measured while the pocket watch is still running, so using the slide on the side of the case near the 5 o'clock position, this will both start and stop that wonderfully large and easy to read second hand in the centre, as well as stop the entire movement as well.
Winding the pocket watch is done via the crown and setting the hands for the time is done by pressing in the small pin just to the side of the bow.
Opening the back cover reveals the most wonderful hand engraving that says "Presented to James Robb by Crookston Bros Glasgow 17/2/04" and then opening the next cover reveals a lovely English three quarter plate movement that has been fully serviced, runs great and comes with our twelve month warranty.
This is the perfect example of a gents antique pocket watch and made in 18 carat gold makes it feel even more wonderful to hold.
