Coral has been used in jewellery for centuries and when you see the colour of natural coral it is so easy to see why it has long been prized the world over. Today so much of the coral on the market is dyed sponge coral or coral with very little or no colour to it, so it is always more exciting to get the coral in its purest colour such as in this delightful antique coral ring.
Hand made in 18ct yellow gold in the early 1900’s, you would be forgiven for thinking that this is a modern ring thanks to its sleek and smooth design that allows it to sit so well on the finger.
The high polish of the 18ct yellow gold matches so perfectly with the pink from the coral, a colour which is sometimes called angel skin coral. From the start of one coral across to the other side, this distance measures 14mm across. At the centre, the ring measures 6.3mm wide and tapers so elegantly to 3.5mm wide at the back of the ring.
Sitting so sleek and elegant on any finger, this antique coral ring is so charming and comfortable to wear day or night.
