Wearing an antique locket around your neck with photos of loved ones has been a romantic notion for over a century and so rarely do we get an antique rose gold locket that is able to hold 4 photos.
3 or 4 sided lockets are so hard to come by and this antique 4 sided locket looks amazing from not only both sides but also inside as the photo compartments open out.
This antique locket bears its registration marks on the top bail for being made in August in 1871 and considering that this antique locket was made over 140 years ago and is still in superb condition is a real testament to the jewellers of the Victorian era.
Made in 9ct rose gold, the rose gold has such a warm patina to it and looks so good against the skin.
Both sides of this locket have been so expertly hand engraved and although machine engraving today is fine you simply do not get the individual character and fine quality that can be achieved from hand engraving.
This locket measures 22.8mm wide by 27.7mm high or 38.6mm from the very bottom to the top of the bail where the chain goes through.
The way the photo compartment opens to the way they fold out is so amazing and delightful to see and again with the superb hand engraving is why antique lockets are always so loved and treasured.
Finding an antique rose gold locket is great, however finding an antique rose gold hand engraved locket that is capable of holding 4 photos is not only a wonderful find it is also so rare and will always be treasured and loved with photos of the people you love inside, and the detail and charm of this locket is what antiques are all about and this antique locket is destined to be loved, cherished and admired.
