Antique Bohemian garnet bangle made in the 1890’s
Bohemian garnets are a variety of garnets known as Pyrope garnets, and they have a very distinct rich burgundy-red colour, and have been found in the former Czech republic region since the Middle Ages, and were very popular in jewellery of the Victorian era when this bangle was made.
Dating from the 1890’s, this bangle certainly catches the eye thanks to the sparkle given off from the garnets, and with their wonderful port colour, there is no doubt that this bangle will always get the attention that it rightly deserves.
With both sides encrusted with garnets, the bangle measures 17.2mm wide and being hinged will allow it to sit nice and comfortable on the wrist.
Fitted with a safety chain for added security, this is a wonderful bangle that will also surprise many when they discover that it is well over 100 years old, yet still so fashionable today.
