Chrysoberyl cat's eye is a very rare and unique gemstone that allows the light to play across the stone in an effect called "chatoyancy" from the French word oeil de chat. This wonderful phenomenon is seen as the light passes across the stone resulting in a wonderful feature that will always make this ring stand out.
Made in 18 carat gold in the early 1900's, the elegant oval cabochon stone as well as its colour and of course the effect it displays, will make certain that this ring is always loved and admired each time that it is worn.
Set into a elegant and smooth setting that measures 12mm at the top and tapers down to the back, this makes the ring feel so comfortable on the finger and be perfect for a man or woman to wear.
Antique jewellery is often so unique and special, and this ring most certainly is.

Antique chrysoberyl cats eye ring made in 18 carat yellow gold in the early 1900's.
Chrysoberyl is a rare gemstone with the rarest variety being the much prized Alexanderite. The cats eye effect is called "chatoyancy" from the French word oeil de chat, and of course has similarities in a cats eye of a single line passing across the stone when it is cut correctly.
