Here is a very beautiful and unique antique clock by Japy Freres and the Derby Silver Company and dates from the late 1800's and is sure to give any room in the house that extra charm and character that only an antique clock can achieve.
The movement was made by the French company Japy Freres and strikes beautifully on the hour and half hour and has just undergone a full service, runs perfectly and comes with our twelve month warranty. The unusual aspect of this movement is that it is a platform escapement which is more commonly seen on carriage clocks and therefore does not have a pendulum. The sound it makes when it chimes is so lovely and gives a wonderful throwback to yesteryear.
Then the case is just so beautiful and was made by the Derby Silver Company who made a name for themselves for producing wonderful silver plated items. This case is even more special in that it has a copper finish to it which is such a rare finish to the clock case. With such a gorgeous copper-bronze colour, this is highlighted with the gilded panels, legs and cherub on top.
Measuring 43cm high by 19.5cm wide and 11cm deep, this antique clock will sit so well on any mantle, desk or table and always get the attention it deserves.
A truly beautiful and unique antique clock.
