Antique diamond engagement ring with an exquisite scroll work setting
Antique rings always have that something special and unique about them, and here is a magnificent antique diamond engagement ring with an exquisite scroll work setting that is breathtaking.
Beautifully hand made in the 1880’s, the ring is set with five European cut diamonds that come together to total an impressive 2.31 carats in weight. European cut diamonds have 58 facets like today’s round brilliant cut diamond, but as they were cut by hand over a century ago, the angles of the facets are usually slightly higher than today. There are so many people who are after European cut diamonds today that modern European cut diamonds are being cut, however there is no denying than a genuine antique cut diamond still holds that special charm and character.
Beautifully graduating from smaller to larger, these diamonds sparkle wonderfully and the top of the setting measures 7.2mm wide at the centre by 20.9mm across.
And then looking at the ring from the side will surely captivate you and have you admiring it for hours on end. The incredible detail on the side is just amazing and made even more incredible when you think that this was all hand made over 130 years ago. There is no doubt that this would have been created by a jeweller of immense skill and craftsmanship and is a real testament to the quality of jewellery produced during the Victorian period.
Destined to always be admired regardless of the finger that it is worn on, this would also make a spectacular antique diamond engagement ring unlike no other.
